SECRETS CAVE

[Community of A/V Enthusiasts]

I have begun to see music distributed on Blu-ray discs. Basically, it is 5.1 music that would otherwise have been on DVD-A or SACD. Maybe there is hope for high rez music. There is no reason why it could not be just stereo if they want. But it would be 24/96, which is a leap from 16/44.1.

I am currently awaiting my copy of 2L Audiophile Reference Recordings: The Nordic Sound from Amazon. It includes a 5.1 24/192 soundtrack, as well as the same recording on an SACD to make for an easy comparison between the two. The same company has a couple of other albums available in the same format as well and reviews of those have been good, so I'm really looking forward to it arriving and being able to give it a listen.

AIX Records is a great source for hi-rez music. I am partial to Lawrence Juber, myself. Most of their stuff is DVD-A, but worth a look...

I just received 3 discs in 5.1 from 2L mailed from Norway.I was the winner of the monthy giveaway contest at AUDAUD.com.The disc I have played was an organ disc recorded in a Cathedral in Bergen,Norway. It sounded very good in DSD from my SONY SACD changer into my Marantz receivers 7.1 analog inputs.
