system/speaker integration

i follow the instruction of magnepan after i have completed my 5.1 speaker system from one of their authorized dealer here in houston tx.

my speaker/system are as follows:

1) magnepan 1.6

2) magnepan cc5

3) magnepan mmg (surround)

4) emotiva ultra 12 subwoofer

5) denon receiver avr 2105

6) amplifier emotiva mps 1

7) oppo bd 93 (blue ray)

8) panasonic g10 (monitor)

according to their manual integrating the system especially with magnepan cc5 i have to set my receiver with no subwoofer and set the main speaker to large center and surround as small and set the crossover at 150-250hz. after following this instruction my receiver is not sending any signal to my subwoofer so i missed the .1 from my system.

any suggestions or recommendation is highly appreciated.

If you set the subwoofer to "no, all of the base below the crossovers will go to your main front speakers and nothing to the sub. I'm really confused that the cc5 would recommend this. Maggys can put out some base but I think they'd need more amp than your MPS 1.. I'd be more inclined to set subwoffer to "yes" all speakers to "small" cross the center and surrounds over at about 150hz and the front speakers over at about 80 and see how you like that. If you don't like it, all you have to do is change the settings.
