What if the pubic demands TITANIC what are they gone to use a digital copy produced by Fox for that lousy DVD special edition ware the colour looks like seasick and DOLBY DIGITAL mix has some of the low end knocked back! Because I have seen and heard with my own eyes/ears a lousy digital presentation with The Spy Who Loved Me and I’m still super pissed off after seeing that 3 years ago.

£13.50 sheer waste of digital it was and that was at thee top UK cinema Empire Leicester Square.

Always have a 35mm projector on standby! ALWAYS cater for public for all 35mm means! ALWAYS!

Same with 70mm ALWAYS keep the duel 35/70mm on standby you never know a rare STAR WARS 70mm Dolby format 42 print might be slipped in by some kind person before that crocked George Lucas can get his mits on it and destroy it. Know what mean!

The 35mm projectors gone OH NO! That’s yet another 2012 nail for next-year!

So the cinema projectionist as now become the fool in the lost art of cinema projection.

I wouldn’t trust a digital copy on hard-drive today with 100 foot badge pole! Especially old films ware I have seen (digital noise reduction) DNR applied to the image and (edge enhancement) EE.

It is indeed a Christie and that is a 3 platter system. I do not recall the film being shown at that time. This theater has now since gone digital and all of these projectors are long gone.

I can’t make out if there is second print on cake plate/platter system on the lower part or is it a shadow?

You wouldn’t remember what print was showing at the time or what screen number?

The platter looks like a CHRISTIE.

So want print is on the cake platter then? The film looks like its running near or on the end credits as I’ve worked in projection myself a few times.

Films are spooled. As it comes off one reel spool, through the projector, it gets re-spooled on another platter and it ready to be shown again...no rewinding needed.

Notice the ventilation on top. The arc bulbs run around 430 degrees. Besides forced air vents, they have anti-freeze cooling systems. Of course they now use safety film that is non-flammable, unlike early celluloid film.
