Tell us about your Home Theater
My theater is an unused bedroom. It is completely light-tight and acousticaly sealed when the door is closed. There are two seats. The floor is covered with rock-board, plywood and carpet. I made my own absorption panels from mineral wool and burlap. The room is so quiet I can hear the buzz of the LCD on my wristwatch when I activate the backlight!

I have been principal bassoonist of the West Point Band for 22 years. I am also the assistant chief of the Band's Publicity shop and the Band's webmaster. Additionally I am an ISF-trained video calibrator.
Do you prefer MP3 or high definition audio?
Though the vast majority of my music is CD, I prefer the enhanced fidelity of SACD.

Hi Chris.....yay!!! great to see you in the CAVE!

I have very little hope of this happening but what about releasing the disc on the same day as the theatrical? I know it would kill ticket sales but since people would have a choice they might be more likely to buy a disc that costs the same or le...

This is a little off topic but... Why is every idea Hollywood has to make more money something other than "Gee, maybe we should make better movies!" Yes there are plenty of enjoyable titles out there but when I look at my Blu-ray collection, ther...

My living room does not have specific room treatment but a large throw rug under the furniture and curtains on the windows help a lot. Our upholstered furniture also does a pretty good job of minimizing reflection.

I made several panels from mineral wool covered with burlap. It's MUCH cheaper to make your own that to buy pre-made ones. I also put a layer of rock board and a layer of plywood under the carpet to keep bass from resonating to the room below, ver...

The Lucidium line from Nuvision is available in silver. The bezel is real metal with a brushed finish, very chic!

A movie soundtrack is printed in an optical strip along the edge of the film itself. This small space limits it to Dolby Digital or DTS at a fairly high rate of compression. I believe the bitrate is actually lower than on DVD. Of course with digi...

I just installed this update but here's a heads-up: If you are using the previous beta firmware, you have to install an interim update first before the new official version. Be sure to read ALL the instructions before proceeding. I missed it and h...

Well I managed to omit a critical bit of information: The system price is $2595. Sorry for the error. I also left out the websites: http://www.audioplusservices.com/ and http://www.focal-fr.com/ Again, my apologies.

This was my first SVS audition. I am still astounded by the quality and quantity of bass and detail this box puts out. When you add in a room correction system like Audyssey or ARC, it's a joy to both hear and feel! I'm running with the one-plug/1...

Was this the first SVS sub you have heard? Were you surprised at how much bass it produces? SVS really kicks some butt in the low frequency department.

Chris Eberle replied to the discussion 'Axiom Speakers' in the group SPEAKERS
I have two seperate Axiom 5.1 setups consisting of M60 towers, VP150 centers and QS8 surrounds. I use an EP350 sub in my living room but switched to an SVS PB-12plus for the theater. I am quite happy with these speakers. They are very neutral and ...

I didn't have too much left to see today. I took in a few demos and saw a couple more projector and TV products. Pictured above is Runco's new LED projector. Unlike competing models this one boasts a light output of 29 foot-lamberts. That's as ...

One correction: The Sub 1 pictured above has eight-inch drivers, not ten. There is a larger model called the Sub 2 that has the tens.
