Dolby will be starting a new process for upconverting Dolby TrueHD from 48kHz to 96zHz.
What does this mean? Better sound from movie and music blu-rays, no doubt. Your current equipment will handle the new upconversion, so you will not have to pay for an upgrade.
Here's the "white paper" on the new process:

Better sound? Free?...I'm pumped! (Look for this new label on movies coming out this Summer)

Comment by Michael Nemoy on May 22, 2012 at 12:50am Uhh? "Better sound, no doubt? "
Absolutely no doubt?
Meridian 808.3 is the worst CD I was listening to in a blind test recently performed; the test bench included as well Playback Design, EMM, Linn, EAR, Burmester and Ayon.
"Worst" - I mean, flat, analytical sound, not dynamic.. and finally, boring..
Many DACs already perform upsampling, so this double upsampling process is not quite a good approach.. The sound would be artificial and not as natural as it should be.
My advise: if you see upsampled titles, do not take them. Hopefully, they will mark them appropriately
