It has been announced that Mr. Abrams, who directed the re-boot of the Star Trek franchise, will be in charge of the new, Disney owned, Star Wars films. Though I enjoyed the Trek film, I found his use of "flare effect" to be a bit too much for my taste. What will happen if it is overly applied to his new project? Is the man who gave us a new Kirk capable of delivering The Force? Or might it be The Farce?
What do you think?

I read somewhere they're also planning a spin-off movie of a young Han Solo. I wonder how many heads on the internet would explode if they cast Chris Pine in the role.

A silver haired Chewy?
I quite liked the 09 Trek movie, am looking forward to the next one in May and think Abrams will bring new life to the Wars franchise. I'm a much bigger fan of Trek than Wars (I own all the movies, and the three TOS seasons on BD) while I've only seen the recent Wars films once each at the cinema and don't own any of the films, so I may be biased. ;)
Besides, many Trek fans (though not me) have criticized the 09 movie for being too much like Star Wars anyway. Why not give him a shot at it?
I think they need to find a calmer, more patient director...one who knows that if they F it up again they run a serious risk of getting firebombed by the fanatical fans (just check Amazon.com's BD boxed set review of star wars, they don't play)...hey, how about Peter Jackson?
What I think? Is WTF!
No I'll just watch something on Laserdisc the day a new star wars film opens at the cinema.
Not interested. star wars ended in 1983 those other star wars films was just a rush job so they can get the story of Darth Vader told how he become hot crispy burnt beacon in a leathery suit going around force choking everyone.
